Write a children’s solstice story

Never written for children? Give it a go and write a children’s story for the winter solstice. Maybe  the text for a picture book showing long nights and short days. Or an amazing adventure,  like the Wizard Of Oz.

Period piece

Read any  Daphne Du Maurier? Write a memoir piece about the first time you read a classic novel you loved. Where were you? Was it a gift? Did you buy it? Was it in a classroom at school? Write about everything to do with your life at that time. Include the five senses. Have fun.

Want more inspiration for short and longer fiction? Jude’s running a writing session in late January with writer, Meg Pokrass on introducing humour into fiction. More details and booking  here.
