An Elephant Never Forgets

imageThis week’s prompt by Jude.

Write about something you have never forgotten. Use as much detail as possible, both foreground and background. Write fast, non-stop until you’ve finished.

And don’t forget our one-off writing session on September 13th in Bath if you want more inspiration.

What’s going on?

Prompt to get you writing from Alex:An English village cricket match. But something is about to happen. What and why? What’s the story?

IMG_2672   Update on Autumn events: I place left for writing group. We believe there is a cancellation on our course at the American Museum, so worth checking and several places on our workshop Sept. 13th to get you back to writing after the Summer. Email for any more info and take a look on our website.

Hot Air

This week’s prompt by Jude.

photo of balloonsIan McEwan’s novel, Enduring Love begins with a highly dramatic event involving a hot-air balloon, which has repercussions for years following the incident.  A great read. The film of the novel is also worth watching. Why not write your own story featuring a hot-air balloon?  If you are near Bristol and want more inspiration, the Bristol Balloon Fiesta is on this weekend – so many different balloons crowding the skyline.

For a further boost to your writing and to try a  variety of prompts, visual and otherwise, come to our morning session Write Outside The Box on September 13th in Hall and Woodhouse Cafe. Six places left.
