Alex and Jude met in a writing group led by novelist Lindsay Clarke and launched Writing Events Bath in 2009. They lead series of  creative writing sessions and one-off sessions to inspire writers, in different venues around Bath. They also invite authors, publishers and agents  to run workshops.

Jude Higgins has an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University (2012) and writes flash (very short) fiction. Her flash fictions have been published in the 2014 Fish Prize Anthology, National Flash Fiction Day anthologies, 2015, 2016 and 2017, Flash Frontier, Halo and Severine Literary Magazines, Blue Fifth Review and New Flash Fiction Review among other places.  She won the 2016 Exeter Flash Fiction Competition and the 2016 Retreat West flash fiction, the Word Factory flash fiction competition, August 17th and was shortlisted in the 2017 Bridport prize. Her pamphlet of  13 short short fictions, The Chemist’s House, was published by  V. Press in June 2017 Jude also co-runs the Bath Short Story Award organises the Bath Flash Fiction Award.  and directs the Flash Fiction Festival, UK. Alexandra Wilson has worked as a freelance journalist, food stylist and antiques dealer, but her main career was as an Analytic Psychotherapist. Alex moved to Bath from London over twenty years ago.

Alex edited Favourite Food from Ambrose Heath for Faber. She also has a story in Tales of Psychotherapy’ published by Karnac, 2007 and has had several short stories published in commercial magazines. She wrote the gardening page for the Bath Chronicle for some years and cookery articles for Bath Life magazine. Alex’s short story ‘Rain’, is published this month in the second issue of the new quality magazine ‘In the Moment‘, available from major supermarkets, ie, Waitrose as well as W.H Smith 27th July.

In 2009 Alex won overall first prize in the Frome International short story competition and she also won the Bath Chronicle short story award, among other prizes. Six of her prize-winning stories are in a collection Holding On’ available on Kindle from Amazon.
