Flash fiction is fiction of 1000 words and under. Often writers of the form create pieces of 500 words or less. This short-short fiction is growing in popularity throughout the world. In this course, you’ll find out about and try out writing in the many styles of this genre and learn to polish and hone up your pieces ready to submit to magazines or competitions. Jude will give homework to encourage you to work on your fictions and in the second half of each session we’ll concentrate on editing your stories. (Five writers each week).

Limited to ten writers. We’ll have a short lunch break in the cafe half way through. The course is suitable for beginners or experienced writers.

For those of you keen on creating longer fiction we will look at how to create a sequence of stand-alone flash fictions with a narrative arc that can build in to a novella or novel in flash.
