Come along and try your hand at writing flash fiction in a two-hour workshop with Alex and Jude. The form has grown vastly in popularity in recent years and Jude is a great fan. She runs Bath Flash Fiction Award, an international competition for stories of up to 300 words. Her flash fiction is published in a number of literary magazines and anthologies and she’s won several contests.

In the workshop, we’ll look at examples, experiment with writing flash fictions using a variety of prompts and discover how much story it’s possible to include in a very short piece. You’ll also learn how to edit your pieces to make a strong beginning and end and where to read and submit very short fiction online.
